What Will You Seek?

Dear supporters,
As-Salaamu ‘Alaykum.

It has been a busy few weeks since we last checked in. I have been fortunate to gain many insights from the field since turning my sights to campus full-time. The Center for Muslim life has been engaged in student advocacy work, university staff training, interfaith initiatives, public engagement, and education programming non-stop.

Much can be said regarding the current condition we find ourselves in as a people. As pressures continue to mount and societal ills compound around us, I’ve come to understand CML’s role more and more clearly.

CML is a guild of seekers

We are not an organization that claims a monopoly over truth. We prefer to act as a catalyst for it. Whether it be university officials asking us for training on the experiences of Muslim students in order to better serve them or students coming to our circle of knowledge or 1-on-1 counseling sessions in search of spiritual well-being, we are here to facilitate the journey. We work to equip others with the tools to effectively conduct their life’s search.

So today I pose a simple, yet difficult, question: what will you seek? Whenever you’re ready, we’re here to help.

In peace,
Tarif
